The Office of Public Information and Community Relations provides support to the Commissioner’s Office in the form of speech-writing, responding to calls from the news media and the general public and preparing correspondence, position papers, special reports and other publications including the department’s annual report. It also prepares news releases and responds to requests for information regarding the department and its service populations to address specific concerns and/or information needs. Special events in recognition of persons, programs or nationally recognized awareness activities are also planned and implemented.
